DAY 01: AMMAN
Arrival at Queen Alia International Airport, transfer to the hotel for dinner and overnight. DAY 02: AMMAN/ Desert Highway / PETRA After breakfast, we will leave Amman via the Desert Highway heading to Wadi Musa for a full day visit to "The Red Rose City" of Petra. The ancient city was founded by the Arab Nabatean Civilization 2000 years ago. Its massive architectural structure and its multicolored stones are an unforgettable attraction. Towards the end of the Siq, you will be spellbound by Petra's most famous monument, the Treasury. You can choose different walks and climbs to discover the mystery of Petra. You will enjoy lunch inside the site of Petra, and then we will return to Amman for dinner and overnight. Program 2 - 4 DAYS / 3 NIGHTS DAY 01: ARRIVAL/ AMMAN Arrival at Queen Alia International Airport, transfer to the hotel for dinner and overnight. DAY 02: AMMAN/ MADABA/ MT. NEBO/ KERAK/ DANA/SHOBAK/ PETRA After breakfast, we will leave Amman heading to Petra via Madaba. You will visit the Greek Orthodox Church St. George, where you will see the masterpiece of Madaba (a Byzantine mosaic map that goes back to the 6th century, showing Jerusalem and other holy sites). We will then go to Mt. Nebo, which is believed to be the place where Moses was buried, and is considered to be one of the most important holy sites in Jordan. Ruins of the 4th and 6th Century with marvelous mosaics adorning the grounds of the church are still visible. After Madaba, we will continue our journey to the city of Kerak, where we will visit the Crusader's Castle, and get to know the architectural military brilliance of the Crusaders. After lunch in Kerak, we will continue to Dana (a small village nestled at the foot of a cliff with a view of Wadi Dana). Afterwards, we will then move to Shobak to inspect the massive Crusader's fortress, after that we will head to Petra for dinner and overnight. Antiquity and modernism meet here, where you will visit ruins of Assyrians, Babylonians, Ammonites and Romans. Further, we will move to Jerash, the Greco- Roman City, known as the City of the 1000 columns. Jerash is known as the best preserved Decapolis City in the modern world. After having lunch in Jerash we will head to Ajloun where we will visit "Qala'at Ajloun", which was built in 1184 AD by Izzedin Usama, who was one of the generals of the Arab leader Salah Eddin, to protect the routes between Jordan & Syria. On our way back to Amman we will have dinner at the Old Village of Kan Zaman, that was preserved and turned into a folkloric village. Within the standing ruins, you can have a look at some of the fine craft shops and works of local artisans. Back to Amman for an overnight. Besides history, Aqaba, the Red Sea Resort with its warm weather and sunny beaches has many other experiences to offer, such as a variety of water sports, including snorkeling in the world known coral reef, fishing, wind surfing, and scuba diving. DAY 03: PHARAOH ISLAND/ AQABA After breakfast we visit the Pharaoh Island, where you will discover an old fortress, which has been occupied by Romans, Byzantines, and Muslims. We will spend some time enjoying the surroundings, the facilities, and the water sports provided, then we will leave the Pharaoh Island, and return to Aqaba for dinner and overnight. NEBO/ AMMAN After breakfast we leave Petra to Shobak to inspect the massive Crusader's fortress.After Shobak,we will continue our journey via the King's Highway to the city of Kerak, where we will visit the Crusader's Castle, and get to know the architectural military brilliance of the Crusaders Our next destination is Madaba, where you will visit the Greek Orthodox Church St. George, where you will see the masterpiece of Madaba (a Byzantine mosaic map that goes back to the 6th century, showing Jerusalem and other holy sites). We will then go to Mt. Nebo, which is believed to be the place where Moses was buried, and is considered to be one of the most important holy sites in Jordan. Ruins of the 4th and 6th Century with marvelous mosaics adorning the grounds of the church are still visible, and the journey will end in Amman, dinner & overnight at the hotel. DAY 04: AMMAN/ DESERT CASTLES/ JERASH/ AMMAN After breakfast, we will visit the capital of Jordan, Amman. Once named Philadelphia, it originally spreaded over 7 hills likes Rome. After breakfast, we will move north to Jerash, the Greco- Roman City, known as the City of the 1000 columns. Jerash is known as the best preserved Decapolis City in the modern world.
